Present Perfect Simple и Present Perfect Сontinuous

skyeng

We use the Present Perfect tense to highlight a connection between the past and the present. The Present Perfect Simple (I’ve travelled) gives the idea of completion while the Present Perfect Continuous (I’ve been travelling) suggests that something is unfinished.
I’ve been travelling actively for the past two years (=I’m still doing it). For example, I’ve travelled to Canada recently — very pleasurable experience (=the trip is finished).
Я активно путешествую последние два года. Например, недавно ездил в Канаду, очень приятный опыт.

The Present Perfect Continuous (has been travelling) shows how long something has been happening. The Present Perfect Simple (have visited) talks about how much/how many have been completed.
I have visited 17 countries, and the most smashing one was Peru. I’ve been travelling there for three weeks.
Я посетил 17 стран, и самой потрясающей оказался Перу. Я был там три недели.

We can use the Present Perfect Simple when we view something as permanent. But the Present Perfect Continuous is often used to show that something is temporary.
Jack has worked in Dublin for thirty years, and he always says that Irish pubs are the real deal. He missed them when he’s been living in New York for three month.
Джек прожил в Дублине 30 лет и всегда говорит, что ирландские пабы — вещь что надо. Ему не хватало их, когда он работал в Нью-Йорке 3 месяца.

When I think of the greatest days in my entire life, I think of when my children were born, or perhaps when my son graduated high school or… today when I was upgraded from business to first on Emirates. I don’t know what I did to deserve this. I really don’t.

I searched the price of a first class flight from Dubai to New York City and it was $21,635.30. It was a 14-hour flight and I documented every aspect of the experience. I was not hired or paid by Emirates to make this video.
